Directions for downloading
and viewing PowerPoint presentation WITH videos embedded in
the slides.
The PowerPoint files must be extracted
from the .zip file and saved together in one file folder for
proper operation of the embedded videos. Trying to start the
presentation from within a .zip file should generate a warning:
"This application may depend on other compressed files in this
folder..." Take heed - the only way to successfully
run a PowerPoint presentation
with embedded files is to download and extract files correctly.
Do not rename or move any individual files.
- When the .zip file has finished downloading,
double-click the compressed folder icon. Look for the
"Folder Tasks" tab in the task (left side) pane
of the Windows Explorer window that opens. Click on
"Extract all files". The "Extraction Wizard" screen
will appear. Click "Next".
- When you see the prompt to
"Select a Destination", either "Browse" and select
a folder of your choice OR accept the default "Desktop" location.
If you choose to "Browse" to a non-default location,
you have the option of creating a new folder. Click
"Next".
- After extraction, make sure the "Show
extracted files" checkbox is checked and click "Finish".
A new window will open displaying the "SANE" folder
containing all of the curriculum files. Double-click
the "SANE" folder to
view the contents.
- Double-click the folder called "PowerPoint
Files". Double click on the batch file called
"play.bat", NOT the "SANE091027.ppt" or "pptview.exe"
files to run the PowerPoint presentation.
You must run the batch command "play.bat"
in the directory you created during the download. Starting the presentation ANY OTHER
WAY will result in failure to properly display embedded
videos.
Do not rename or move any individual files. If you store
the files in a different way or rename them, the videos will
not work when you open the PowerPoint presentation on your
computer.
